Good morning, everyone. Today, I want to share with you how I created a home office in my master bedroom. This can be done in pretty much any room of your home if you don’t have space for a home office. I live in a 1050 sq ft house and don’t have a dedicated space for an office. That is why I created a home office inside my bedroom.
I purchased this computer armoire at a yard sale for $40. It was beige when I bought it so I painted it white.
And then I turned it into an office. Here’s where it all happens: Work, bill paying, scheduling, printing, emailing, calling, scanning, planning, booking, etc.
This “office” is the perfect size for my needs. The armoire has enough shelves to hold my desktop, printer, keyboard, office supplies and files. I prefer desktops over laptops for various reasons.
#1: I love a bigger keyboard.
#2: I prefer a “real” mouse.
#3: To be productive, I need to sit at a desk and use my computer. A desktop helps me stay focused better, as I need to sit up. I could never get any work done sitting or lying down on a couch with a laptop.
After owning (and loving) an HP Pavillion desktop for over eight years, I finally upgraded to an all new HP 22-b013w All-in-One touch screen desktop PC.
This computer is perfect for me. It has plenty of storage (1 TB hard drive) and is completely redesigned with a new stylish stand. It looks so sleek and modern, don’t you think?
The HP has a 10-point touch-enabled 21.5″ diagonal widescreen with webcam and speakers. The All-in-One has been backed by over 100 tests, so I know that it’s reliable and great for all our technology needs. Honestly, I’m thrilled to have this computer.
I use the new computer for blogging, writing, surfing the net, paying bills, checking my son’s grades, scheduling, and keeping up with a million other things. My son, who started 8th grade two days ago and already checked his grades twice, uses the HP computer to do research for school papers, Powerpoint assignments or streaming videos and movies. This All-in-One gives both of us exactly what we need. Have I mentioned the All-in-One is also budget-friendly?
Walmart offers the ALL NEW HP desktops and laptops at very affordable prices. Go check it out! You’ll be amazed how fun and stylish these computers are.
The computer armoire has a pull out tray for the keyboard and the printer/scanner/copier. Underneath the printer, I keep the printer paper, printer ink and various envelopes and labels. The trashcan shelf used to house my old computer tower, which I no longer need thanks to the new HP All-in-One.
A couple of small baskets hold things like paper clips, glue sticks, erasers, tape, hole punch, stapler, etc. I made my pen holders using old soup cans and wall paper. They help keep clutter under control. I cannot be productive and creative in a messy and cluttered environment.
On the top shelf I keep my files, bills, and extra office supplies.
At the end of the workday, I shut the door and this room is back to being a master bedroom.
No matter how small your home is, you can set up a home office anywhere. You just have to get creative and stay organized.
Do you have a combined bedroom and home office? What’s your favorite and least favorite thing about it? Also, who else loves desktops as much as I do?
