If you follow me on Instagram, you might have noticed that lately, I’ve been eating a lot of mango and kale. Both are so affordable, healthy and delicious. Most days, Aldi has mangoes for $ 0.69 a piece. I usually stock up on mangoes and freeze a bunch. I always like to have some fruit in the freezer. We are smoothie junkies over here – we make smoothies almost daily.
Mangoes help lower blood pressure and boost brain health. The list of health benefits of kale goes on and on. Kale fights cancer, relieves pain, improves heart health, etc. It”s a true super food.
Even if you don’t like kale, I am positive you’ll enjoy this kale and mango smoothie. This smoothie is refreshing and healthy, and offers relief from the summer heat. It’s been so hot in Nashville, which makes mowing and any outdoor work very hard. After mowing, I enjoy this smoothie so much. I cannot tell you how good it feels. It’s also a great way to get in some extra greens.
To start the smoothie, you are going to need:
2 cups chopped kale
1 cup frozen mango
1/2 frozen banana
1 cup almond milk or any other milk
Directions:
Place ingredients in blender. (I use this blender.) Pour and enjoy.
Perhaps you don’t like green juices and smoothies, but, I want to challenge you to try something new this week.
Keep cool and have a great week. xo Sabine
