Trick-or-treating is an old custom, but it’s no longer just about going to your neighbor’s house for candy. In fact, our neighborhood is dark and empty on Halloween. My son and I trick-or-treat with his friend and family in their neighborhood which has huge crowds, lots of decorations and even more candy.Many costumed kids hit shopping centers and other trick-or-treating events offered by churches and businesses. Wherever you plan on trick-or-treating, please carry lights and watch out for traffic.  And if you’re visiting a neighborhood that isn’t your own, please be extra considerate about candy wrappers and other litter.

If you live in Nashville you may be wondering about the best neighborhoods for trick-or-treaters. Below, the nice researchers at Zillow created a list of the top five trick-or-treating places in Music City.

Best Neighborhoods to Trick-or-Treat in Nashville

With Halloween just around the corner, it’s time for Zillow’s annual trick-or-treat index! This year, Nashville ranks #19 on Zillow’s list of the top 20 cities for trick-or-treaters. This index represents the cities that provide the most candy, in the least amount of time, with the fewest safety risks. Here are the top five neighborhoods in Nashville for trick-or-treaters:

1)      Greenhill’s Neighborhood

2)      Bellmont Hillsboro

3)      Cherokee Park/Richland

4)      Sylvan Heights

5)      West Meade
