When I was little, my mom used to wear Chanel No. 5. It was the only perfume she ever wore. To this day the scent reminds me of times when she sat on my bed and we talked about nothing and everything – Some of my fondest memories I have of my mom.
Years later she came to visit us in Los Angeles and afterwards the rooms smelled of her; it was lovely. Fragrance is like a ghost, a reminder that someone else has been here. I am always sad when that smell finally departs.During my teenage years my mom loved to surprise me with new bottles of fragrance. I ended up with ten or so different bottles and each day I selected a scent that fit my mood and occasion. Fragrance became a way to express myself. It said more about who I was than my clothes sometimes. It was the aura I carried around me that spoke so many things. Fragrance became a way of living – To this day I love aromatic things, exotic teas, beautiful candles, amazing bath products… and perfumes.
This holiday season I decided to give my daughters their personal fragrance. While at Walmart, I snagged two Coty Fragrance Gift Sets. I had fun spraying and dabbing different Coty fragrances but my two favorite were Beyoncé Heat and Rise. In my opinion, both fragrances are perfect for fall and winter. I got a really good hint of sweet warm berries, magnolia, peach, musk and vanilla. Getting the perfect gift can be stressful but with Coty Fragrance Gift Sets, shopping for my girls was really easy and I know they will love these sets. Let’s face it, it’s Queen Beyoncé. Did I mention each set is under $15?
A quick sniff of their wrists will give them a little lift when they want it. I bet the girls will have so much fun make their fragrance “work” with what they’re wearing, or where they’re going, or even the music that’s playing. Just a little spray will give them the power to leave a lasting impression.
Each fragrance smells achingly beautiful. Add to that the beauty of the bottles and the thrill of a wonderful find. What’s not to love?
Do you have a fragrance that brings back memories of people, events, etc.?
