It’s nine degrees inside ICE!.This is all ice!Handcrafted by artisans from China.
Inside Opryland’s Hotel.Last night, the tree lighting ceremony took place at the Gaylord Opryland Hotel & Resort in Nashville. This is always such a fun event so I thought I’d share a few snippets with you.
Opryland Hotel is so beautiful… I never get tired of visiting. A Country Christmas at Opryland offers 2 million lights, acres of decorations, exciting live shows and attractions, plus ICE!® featuring the Nutcracker! I was invited to a sneak peek of ICE!® (before today’s opening), and let me tell you, this place is mind-blowing. ICE!® has TWO MILLION pounds of hand-carved ice sculptures and four thrilling slides. TWO MILLION! Take a look at our last year’s visit to ICE®.
Before you enter you get a heavy coat to keep warm. And you need it. It’s freezing cold in there (9 degrees). I don’t know how the ice carvers do it. I took as many photos as I could without wearing gloves, but after a few minutes I could feel my fingers getting numb. Make sure to bring hats, gloves and warm clothing. Although the ice sculptures are spectacular, ticket prices seem high to me ($26.99 for adults, $19.99 for kids 4-11).
But Opryland Hotel has so much to offer and if you want lights and Christmas decorations, this is the place for you. Since there is no fee to walk the grounds, I would highly recommend this place to anyone visiting Nashville during the holiday season.
